Off-White Version of Limited Edition Shoe Follows up on Popular Yellow Bodé Clyde That Dropped in March

Boston, Massachusetts, May 15, 2007 — PUMA^® introduces the second edition of the Vaughn Bodé Clyde, created to celebrate the 50^th anniversary of the creation of Vaughn Bodé’s iconic cartoon character, Cheech Wizard. This limited edition run of shoes first hit stores in March with a yellow version of the Bodé Clyde, selling out in most shops across the world in just minutes. On Saturday, May 19, the second version makes its debut.

These second edition Bodé Clydes use the same PUMA Clyde silhouette and share the same graphic design elements as the first, complete with big stars, colorful Cheech Wizard sockliner and 50^th anniversary tongue logo. This latest version comes in a more neutral off-white colorway, however, with grey and black accents to honor the first published cartoon of the Cheech Wizard, which came out in black and white print.

Like the first version, the shoe features three sets of laces for color customization and a Cheech Wizard key chain, explaining the history of da Big Hat himself, Da Cheech. The sneakers are made of nubuck leather with high gloss printed stars and branding throughout. For comfort and breathability, the interior lining is made of soft, full grain pigskin while the quarter linings are compiled of brushed synthetic suede.

Mark Bodé, Vaughn’s son, teamed up with PUMA to design the limited edition sneakers in order to keep the Bodé magic alive. Only 264 pairs of these limited edition shoes will be available worldwide. The Cheech Wizard is giving everyone a second chance. Don’t miss it!

With the lining inspired by the traditional settlers of Sweden – the Sámi people – Sneakersnstuff hopes to educate the world of the Scandinavian natives and tribute the first people of Northern Europe. The Hong Kong based magazine Milk magazine has teamed up with Nike to create some very special lace locks for Air Force 1’s 25th anniversary. Interestingly, they claimed that the lace lock can be used as a multi functional accessory such as an earring, a key chain, a necklace and more.

The release of Transformers the movie is still over 2 months away, however the anticipated release can derive some ease with the pre-releases of various licensed memorabilia. Nike have gone and used the silhouette of the Nike Free 7.0 and done quite the mash up with Megatron and Convoy to create a pair of transforming sneakers. The execution is turned out quite well and would satisfy both Nike/Shoe and Transformer collectors out there. They have been released in Japan and will retail for 2,625 Yen.

Japanese apparel brand Victim and Japanese sneaker store Mita are set to release two new colorways of the New Balance CM670. Although the most liberal colorways usually emanate within New Balance Japan, these CM670’s are an appeal to more traditional New Balance fans.

During the 2007 All-Star game, Jordan Brand release a series of figures inspired by the Air Jordan XX2. Since the XX2 was created with the stealth bomber in mind, these XX2 figures took a similar approach and were themed as pilots of the shoes. As well, Michael Jordan often considered himself as a “black cat” on the court. Together these ideologies formed the XX2 Stealth Cat figure.

Each characteristic of these figures maintains a relationship with the shoe it is modeled after. The whiskers represent the zig zag pattern of the sneakers while the vents on the back of the figures parallel the vents seen on the XX2’s. The similarities don’t stop there. Camo seen on the XX2 can also be seen on the front and back of the figure. Other little neat characteristics are the XX2’s worn by the figures as well as the Jumpman logo seen on the back. Each figure’s colorway is a representation of five exclusive Jordan Brand athletes in Ray Allen (green and yellow), Chris Paul (yellow and light blue), Joe Johnson (red and yellow), Rip Hamilton (Dark blue and red) and Carmello Anthony (light blue with yellow).

The figures were masterminded by Brian Flynn of Hybrid Design and Super7. The difficulty in the manufacturing process to create these figures is something to marvel at. These figures were created at a factory in Japan that is touted as the absolute best factory when it comes to clear vinyl. It is often a laborious process to create clear vinyl without any bubbles, however this Japanese factory is able to create perfect vinyl all the meanwhile maintaining consistent wall thickness throughout the figure.

After the release of the first Nike x Bobbito Air Force 1 colorway, the second colorway of this series is set to release. This time the colorway is done in beige, light green, and burgandy featuring materials of leather and suede. Like the first edition, this second colorway also features the Bobbito logo on the back panel of the shoe. This sneaker is set to release next weekend at select locations like Nort, Footpatrol, Colette, and many more.

As we reported before, F.I.L. will be opening in Hong Kong and this will be their third location in total and first outside of Japan. For the opening, they will have a variety of products lined up for release including a Hong Kong exclusive Visvim Christo Hexagon, Logans, Nomad Jacket 2.5Paclite, Original Fake x Visvim Zahra, Fluxus Denim, and other quality items. The store opening will be this Thursday April 26th and to celebrate this occasion there will also be a grand opening party. This party will feature many industry big names including Hiroshi Fujiwara, Hirofumi Kiyonaga of Soph, Hiroki Nakamura of Visvim, and many more.

Casio and Undftd are joining forces for a forthcoming collaborative G-Shock release. Details remain scarce at this time but based on the teaser picture on the website, the release will be a derivative of a G-Series watch from G-Shock’s Classic line. Nike has just produced an Air Force 1 exclusive for Taiwan President Chen Shui Bian. This sneaker is done in white, green and beige featuring Chen Shui Bian’s face lasered on the side of the shoe. This is definitely something that doesn’t happen everyday and it might even catch on and become a trend.

New Balance presents their latest collaboration, which is a Hanon x Schoeller x New Balance M990HSN. Schoeller is a Swiss based company known for producing high technology textiles and this time they have used many innovative materials on the M990 model. The Hanon M990 is constructed with a Schoeller 3XDRY encapsulated sock upper. 3Xdry is a treatment applied to technical fabrics that deals predominantly with 3 areas, the moisture management, stimulates cooling effect, and repels water and stains. The Hanon M990HSN will be released on Saturday April 28th.

The previous release of the Kaws x Visvim Zahra black version was a sneaker that was talked about quite a bit and the past weekend marked the release of the white version of the shoe. This version is sold only at Original Fake and F.I.L. in Japan, so for those interested be sure to get them quick before there all gone.

There has been many different Jordan Spizikes coming out this year such as the True Blue and Fire Red editions. The newest addition to the family of Spizikes is the King County Edition. This sneaker features a black, red, white, and yellow colorway with materials of patent leather, nubuck, and leather. The cement print on the front and back heel is done in yellow, which definitely makes the shoe stand out. There isn’t any release information at the moment, but be sure to check back for more updates.
